I bought this as a gift for a 10 year old girl. I wanted a jewelry box that didn't have a ballerina as the rotating figure. The butterfly and music is very pretty. The actual storage in the jewelry box is smaller than I imagined, but I still thought it was age appropriate. The post of butterfly figure needed to be adjusted when it arrived because it was rubbing on the jewelry box, causing the figure to stop. I bought this for my 3-year-old for her birthday. She loves it - the little drawers are great for her little fingers, and seem just right as 'cubbies' for little treasures. This was a special retirement gift for my daughter's first grade teacher. She was a very hands on teacher and when the class studied insects, my daughter and I supplied the monarch butterfly caterpillars and leaves, so this jewelry box was the perfect gift.
